Six Oscar Mayer Wienermobiles travel across the country at any given time, and one will remain in the Houston area until Labor Day at area supermarkets.

The 27-foot hot dog on wheels has been around since 1936 and essentially serves as a mobile marketing tool for the company’s cold cuts, hod dogs, bacon, sausage and other products. It also provides photo opportunities for hot-dog lovers on Instagram.

According to its website, the company has been hiring drivers — or "Hotdoggers" — to serve as ambassadors for the brand since last year.

The company is also offering a chance to win a year’s supply of hot dogs for people who post their hot-dog toppings on social media.
